Homeownership is becoming harder to achieve everywhere as demand outpaces supply. But housing and neighborhood nonprofits are using a variety of tools—some complex and some simple--to preserve and expand homeownership.
Four leaders from across Ohio will discuss how their efforts are keeping homeowners in homes and expanding access to homeownership to new generations.
Franklinton Development Association will describe how their door hanger campaign has educated residents on the benefits of selling their homes to prospective homeowners instead of real estate investors. LISC-Cincinnati will discuss their “heirs properties” initiative, which is helping low- and moderate-income homeowners get the legal documents they need to ensure a tidy, fast, and legal inheritance of the family home after the owner passes away. Believe Mortgage, the lending arm of CHN Housing Partners, is one of the first CDFIs in the Midwest to offer consumer mortgages and they will describe the mortgage products they have available to homeowners of all economic backgrounds. Affordable Housing Alliance of Central Ohio will describe a shared equity mortgage product being piloted in Columbus.
This webinar is hosted by the Greater Ohio Policy Center with the generous support of JPMorganChase.
