GOPC To Host Public Policy Webinars

The Greater Ohio Policy Center (GOPC), is excited to once again kick-off the new legislative session with a pair of webinars that will education local changemakers and champions of opportunities at the Statehouse over the next two years.

On Wednesday, January 11, from 11:00am - 12:00pm, Greater Ohio Policy Center’s Director of Strategic Engagement Jason Warner will provide an overview of our 2023 Public Policy Platform, where participants can learn more about GOPC's top legislative goals for the 135th Ohio General Assembly.

GOPC will discuss our policy recommendations and why enactment of the proposed policy objectives is critical for Ohio communities that are working to revitalize. Staff will explain pragmatic, high-impact policies that will

  • Revitalize Ohio’s Brownfields

  • Connect People to Places

  • Unleash Opportunity in Ohio

  • Reduce Barriers to Development and Homeownership

On Friday, January 27, from 11:00am - 12:00pm, Warner will provide an overview of Ohio’s state budget process. Participants will learn more about when and how Ohio lawmakers will enact two of the state’s primary budgets: the state Transportation Budget and the Main Operating Budget.

This webinar will discuss the full process of enacting the state’s budgets, including committee hearings, amendments, floor votes and conference committees. These budget will fund state government operations for the next two years.

You must register in advance for both webinars. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. 

Following both presentations, participants will be able to ask questions.
