Reinvention Cities Network Joins Together for Roundtable in Marion, Ohio!

Last week, community leaders gathered in Marion, Ohio for the quarterly Reinvention Cities Network Roundtable – the first time the Network has gathered in-person since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Quarterly roundtables provide legacy city leaders with the opportunity to learn, network, and engage with their peers across the state. This has occurred virtually until last week.

GOPC was excited to be back together in-person, as this provides an opportunity for leaders to visit their peer communities, and see revitalization first-hand. Sincere appreciation to our host city and the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce for providing meeting space, lunch, and an afternoon bus tour!

More than twenty participants from six legacy cities were present during the Roundtable – both in-person and through a hybrid virtual option. During the morning, community leaders provided updates on revitalization efforts underway in their cities. Community updates provide participants with the opportunity to bounce ideas and ask for feedback from peers. Additionally, our host city, Marion, presented about the collaborative work of Marion County and the City of Marion.

For those who attended in-person, the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce and community partners provided participants with a bus tour to see Marion first-hand. The bus tour focused on the interconnection of economic and community development.
