On May 31, the Ohio EPA filed the state’s Beneficiary Mitigation Plan with the VW Settlement Trustee. The plan is now posted online, along with the public comments that were received this past winter. You can read GOPC’s comments on the draft plan here.

Now that the plan has been submitted to the trustee, Ohio EPA is now accepting applications for the first round of grants that will be made available under the settlement. A total of $15 million will be made available for grants of between $50,000 and $2 million. These awards will be used to repower or replace medium and heavy duty diesel engines and vehicles in 26 Ohio priority counties. Go here to see which counties are eligible.

Applications must be submitted online by close of business Friday, August 3, 2018. Ohio EPA will also be hosting a series of webinars providing information on the application process. More information about these webinars is available on the EPA’s website.
