Deadline Approaches for Communities Seeking Capital Budget Funds

Lawmakers have opened up the solicitation process for communities to request community project funds for possible inclusion in the upcoming 2027-28 capital appropriations budget. Organizations seeking community project funding from the state must turn in their proposals to legislators' offices by Thursday, March 12. Lawmakers themselves will submit funding requests for projects they are supporting to their respective chambers' finance committees by Thursday, March 26.

The capital budget process kicks-off this week as lawmakers in the House and Senate will hold hearings on the capital reappropriations budget. The re-appropriations budget will authorize the reallocation of project funds that have previously been approved, but the projects are not yet completed.
