To lead Ohio into this recovery, a statewide coalition of Ohio’s economic and community development nonprofits have joined together to form the Rebuilding Ohio Coalition. GOPC is proud to join this coalition alongside other statewide organizations that, collectively, represent 325 community and economic development nonprofits, and serve hundreds of small businesses and thousands of families.
The initiative’s digital home features case studies of successful policies and programs that can serve as national models for inclusive and sustainable revitalization; a searchable map charting nearly 100 legacy cities and their pathways of regrowth; and a comprehensive list of resources exploring the unique challenges and opportunities that legacy cities face.
Redevelopment Ready Communities is a no-cost, technical assistance, statewide certification program that is open to all Michigan communities. The goal of the program is to help municipalities become development ready and economically competitive, “arming” cities with streamlined, efficient development processes and well-planned strategies for attracting redevelopment.
The Network works to advocate for shared policy goals and to promote learning among cities statewide. Stewarded by the Greater Ohio Policy Center, RCN actively works to identify, develop, and advocate for policies that support small legacy city revitalization and help communities transition to be fully competitive in the 21st Century economy.
